CSYD researchers observed mobile phone use in several communities throughout North Carolina and South Carolina in the fall of 2006 to identify pre-law rates of use. During the same period, both young teen drivers and one of their parents were interviewed by telephone to determine their knowledge, beliefs and behaviors regarding mobile phone use. Follow-up interviews and observations have been completed. Analyses to determine changes are currently under way.
